Listening + Ball Of The Foot

“There is a difference between listening and waiting for your turn to speak.” Simon Sinek
I’ve been standing differently on the Ball of my Foot this week. A nerve related pain on top of my big toe recently got me to listening with a deeper level of compassion to my feet. I use them every day, nearly all day long, often without shoes on them and one toe wasn’t happy. When standing on the Ball of my Foot this week I’ve found comfort (read: no pain in my big toe!) when my feet are turned more inward than ‘usual’ and the weight of my body is more evenly distributed across the entire ball not just the first three toes. While this experiment in comfort and pleasure isn’t over, the results spur me on to deeper listening. To Your Health, Julie

Nia Move: Ball Of The Foot
Daily practice: Stand as if you were in high heels, transfer weight from one foot to another, stepping directly onto the balls of your feet. Choose a comfortable heel heigh and sustain the height of your heels you’ve selected. Relax your toes and extend them out in front of you. Practicing this move improves your ability to move quickly and with more agility. Use this move to heal your feet and ankles plus improve your posture.
