“Silence is a source of great strength.” Lao Tzu
Last night I laid down, tired as I was, my mind began to race the moment my head touched the pillow. Hmmm, of was it racing even before that? I noticed my heart was pounding, almost racing. Exhausting all the methods I’ve used to quiet my mind previously, I surrendered and arose to drink a strong cup of chamomile tea. Sipping the tea relaxed my body, my breathing slowed, sleep was soon to follow. I’m curious to embark on a journey today to choose or notice silence as an act of self-care. Nia Move: Traveling In Directions
Daily practice: Step out freely. Move through life consciously changing directions every few paces. As you change directions, move the position of your entire body at once, integrating upper and lower body. Think about the move before you make it to heighten your brain-body hook-up. With determination say the word change as you do the move. Look where you are going. This move keeps your body agile, able to change directions with ease.
