Nia Move: Palm Directions
Daily practice: Extend an arm, consciously change the direction of your palm and notice how each direction change feels in your shoulder. Repeat with the other arm. Change the direction of your palms with arms extended and with elbows bent seeking pleasurable sensations in your joints. Practicing Palm Directions improves breathing by opening your shoulder girdle and shoulder joints. Express yourself with palms up as the universal indicator of openness. This move connects you to your emotions and is important to achieving optimal function of the shoulders.
